"Breathing is an interruption for..."

My mom would always say "I was the only child she'd ever met for whom breathing was an inconvenient interruption to reading." It made me smile, whenever I took my nose out of my book and actually heard her, that is.

So remember how I wasn't reading for 24 hours to give my eyes a break? Yeah, right.

I finished Eclipse Monday evening & started on Breaking Dawn. I think I've finally slowed my pace because I know it will be over soon....and because the late nights are catching up a little.

Whenever I read this much this fast I always dream about the characters in the book - which is great because it feels like I'm still reading...

If you are a fan of these books & haven't discovered Stephanie Meyer's website yet, treat yourself & check it out. My favorite part? She's created playlists for each book - like a soundtrack to a book - really cool & you can hear them on her site. Also you can read a partial draft of the fifth book, Midnight Sun, which is a rewrite of Twilight, but told from Edward (not Bella's) point of view.

That "partial draft" for 'Midnight Sun' was pilfered from the author's computer or publisher, and posted online without her consent. As a result, Stephanie Meyer won't be publishing that book, saying the whole thing has been ruined by revealing the direction she was going to go without allowing her to roll out her finished book. The sad thing is, the person who posted the draft probably thinks they're completely within their rights to have spoiled the book for the rest of the audience, just as they're completely guilt-free for posting movies and songs on file-sharing networks.

I love this series too - just read Breaking Dawn this weekend - in one day-long sprint. As my family observed when I finally closed the book, "Are you ready to be sociable now?" (We were at my dh's parents cottage with loads of family!) Her sci-fi book "The Host" is also quite good! As to the comment from justdevin - Stephenie posted the first chapter of Midnight Sun on her own website, herself.

You know, my cousin told me it was just a chapter & I gawked when I saw it was 264 pages this morning, but did not take time to read what happened.

I'm sad someone did that to her & the story.

Thanks for telling me, Dev.
and good to see you on the blog.

I get like that when I'm reading. While reading Breaking Dawn I only stopped to eat and go to the bathroom. MY DH just laughed.

Hopefully Ms. Meyer will reconsider and finish her book soon.....the prelim that was on her site was quite interesting.

Oh well....at least we can look forward to the movie.

Oh I read Breaking Down in like a day. I couldn't put it down. In fact, I am still so addicted to those books, I pull them out and frequently reread my favorite passages.

It's so disappointing to hear about Midnight Sun. I had read the chapter she had posted on her website awhile back, and I was so anticipating it from his side of the story.

I'm a post behind in responding, but isn't Dr. Horrible just so wonderful? Neil Patrick Harris, ftw. And if you like Felicia Day, look up her series The Guild. I am a WoW addict and this is pure genius.
