Happy Valentines Day to Me

Well, this is it folks. I'm getting an Atlas + HF ICD (pacemaker/defib combo) this coming Wednesday, February 15th. Happy Valentines Day to me. This thing is incredible. There is a possibility that it can undo all the damage my heart's endured from suffering from LBBB - let's hope so. At the very least it will give me all kinds of energy & keep me out of cardiac danger. I'm so excited about getting it put in I've actually been crying about it - had to go to Sonic with my parents for a little celebration (love those Lemon-Berry Slushes)!

I am so happy for you. What a wonderful gift of life. I understand the stress of health problems. I was just diagnosed with a heart problem that nothing can be done about. The lower lobe of my heart, which is 55% of the heart is only functioning at 25% tops. I am not a candidate for a heart transplant due to my age, 62 yrs., and the fact I am in poor health. The doctors give me 1-1/2 to 2 years they say. I told them they weren't God and only He knew how much time I had left. God willing it will be longer. :) I am so very happy your gift of life is available to you and my prayers will continue for you.

Marilyn,
Thank you for your prayers, I will be including you in mine as well. Have faith. There is a website I want to refer you to that has been a tremendous help & comfort to me - there's a link on my blog. It's called www.chfpatients.com. I don't know if you specifically have CHF or not, but they have really understandable explanations of medications & procedures & most importantly there's an online support group for people with heart disease. Jon, who runs the site, is a Christian and has a whole section devoted to spirituality & heart disease. I hope it can help you as it has me. God bless,
emily

Emily, I 've loved you and Magic Scraps for years! I stumbled across your blog only a few weeks ago. I didn't know you had heart issues until now. You are in my prayers. Good luck with your pacemaker/defib! Shari
